I'm looking forward most to reading Pride and Prejudice for the first time. I just started The Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco and am enjoying it a bunch
I just discovered your substack recently and am so glad I did because I am reveling in all we have in common! Mrs. Rumphius! I haven't thought about that beloved childhood book in years. I just finished reading The Serviceberry (I'm guessing that's the RWK book you picked up). This Spiritual Director is so glad that you are reccomending it to the rest of the world - especially in the midst of study and discernment, it can be so powerful. And as a huge Dylan fan, I am so eager to see the movie (but alas, 2 kids and 2 jobs, and I haven't found the time just yet....)
Goodness, the magic of the Internet! I have so been enjoying your Substack as well- I loved your piece on prayer, especially the reference to Anne Lamott (I adore the book of hers that you referenced!) and centering prayer.
And isn't Mrs. Rumphius the best? It certainly solidified lupines as one of my favorite flowers way back when. "The Serviceberry" is indeed the RWK book that I picked up; I'm not sure if you've read "The Gift: How the Creative Spirit Transforms the World" by Lewis Hyde (if not, you would be in for quite the treat!), but I sense a really interesting dialogue between the two books. I hope you're able to see the Dylan movie sometime soon- I didn't have high expectations but was very much pleasantly surprised. Well worth a watch!
I hope to read more fiction this year too
Right?! Is there anything in particular you are looking forward to reading?

I’ve never heard of “The Name of the Rose” before- adding it to my list!
